Eight of the BBC rode out to Village Creek this morning, it was a windy, but beautiful day. The Killough's and Blanton's got in a heavy downpour on their ride home but they toughed it out as us Smith's rode in our dry cars! :)
Wynne native Joe Dooley sent this to me this morning and I thought you'd like to see it. Not sure we'll make the ride but here's a link to it at the Brooks Museum:
A Cloar Field Trip: Join curator Dr. Stanton Thomas for a Carroll Cloar-themed bicycle ride through Crittenden County, Arkansas. A 12-mile ride leaves the Crittenden County Museum in Earle at 9 am, and a 6-mile ride leaves at 10:30 am. On either trip, you’ll see Rev. George Washington’s funeral monument, Gibson Bayou Church, and other sites immortalized in Cloar’s work. Please meet at the Crittenden County Museum, 1112 Main Street, Earle AR. Afterwards, enjoy a complimentary picnic lunch provided by Uncle John's. Sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, the City of Crawfordsville, and Memphis Area Association of Governments.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition The Crossroads of Memory: Carroll Cloar and the American South.
